Create a multi-collector donation
Useful information for food banks, donor branches and donor organisations.
When offering or scheduling a donation, donors can opt for a donation to have more than one collector.
They may decide to do this for many reasons including:
The Primary Charity is only approved to accept ambient food, but the donor has a combination of ambient, chilled, frozen and/or hot food to offer.
Instructions
You can start your donation either on your Dashboard by clicking on ‘+Create Donation’:
You can also create your donation in ‘My Donations’ by clicking on ‘+Create Donation’:
If you are logged in as a branch user, only your branch will appear in Step A.
There are 5 steps to follow when creating a donation:
Select Branch - this is where you select the branch that you want to send the donation from (if you are logged in as the organisation administrator.
Prepare Donation - this is where you specify the details of your donation and you will be asked to select specific food categories. This can be set up in advance as well as custom units of measure.
Notification Window - this is where you can specify that your donation will be scheduled or unplanned.
Donation Transfer Window - this is where you can specify how the donation will be transferred (either a collection or a delivery) and when the donation can be transferred -
We will choose to create a custom transfer window to allow for multiple collectors.
Choose a “Starts at” time and date, and “Ends at” time and date.
Ensure the “Max recipients” is more than 1
Choose a primary charity to receive the offer first
Choose a waitlist charity to receive the offer second
